Where the locals go... and I like to consider myself a neighborhood local, but I'm not officially on the VIP list to be remembered on a first name basis (yet). My schedule is always full, so making time to really enjoy myself & indulge with a bottle of wine or chill time at the bar can be hard. Pasta, Wine, Pizza, Wine, salad, Wine... really good Italian dishes here. Patio seating is available when it's not hot and when we come, we usually just drop in without a reservation. If your a planner, make one in advance for your group. Atmosphere is nice. Bar area tends to be a bit louder (as expected) but I feel like once everyone gets through half a bottle, it's kicks up a notch. Though not Italian, I started off with a spicy margarita... from there, we decided to get a pizza, the Tuscan Prosciutto, Chicken Parmigiana & split of a large dinner salad. Salad to start was good. It did take some time for our food to come out, but it delivered as expected. Pizza had a nice crust, and the prosciutto was a nice touch. Chicken Parm was good, but the sauce seemed really thin with the noodles was my only knock on the meal. Already making plans to return when some out of town friends arrive.
Food was amazing. We had the pizza, calamari, and wings- all amazing. Nice ambiance.
Q: What did the basil say to the chef? A: Stop PESTO-ing me! Everybody knows about this Chandler gem. It's a busy place and it is best that you make reservation to ensure a table. If not,you might be lucky enough to grab a spot in the bar area. WILD MUSHROOM SACCHETTI |$18| pesto cream sauce | coarse parmigiana: Sacchetti is a type of Italian pasta that is stuffed and shaped like small bags or purses. These little sachets of pillowy dough held a lovely cheesy mushroom mixture and swam in a lovely pesto cream sauce. It was everything delicious! COMBO SUPREME PIZZA |$25| pepperoni | sausage | mushroom | green pepper | onion | black olives: Such a solid pizza that had me, "Mmm MMMMMMing" on the first bite. Not exactly foldable but sturdy enough to hold all the ingredients. If we're asking which pesto is the besto, the answer is clearly Pesto's! Check on their website or Instagram for their Pesto's Poet Society Weekend Specials (available Thursday-Saturday).
One of the best Italian spots in the whole Valley. Pesto's is fantastic! From the ambiance, to the service, and definitely the food, everything here makes you feel like you're enjoying a home cooked Italian meal. It's not a very large space but they do take reservations. They're busy most nights to be honest. The inside is very nice. Huge fish tank (good entertainment for kiddos) and a couple tvs at the bar. The food here is excellent. Huge portions and everything tastes so fresh. The menu has all the Italian staples and some of their own twists. Highly recommend their pasta dishes, chicken parm, and the calamari appetizer. Definitely add Pesto's to your list. You're not going to be disappointed!
It was fun to try Pesto's with my friends -- for all the years all of us have lived here, in the area, it never crossed our minds that this quaint Italian restaurant exists! We were looking for a "proper" Italian joint to send off our friend, who is a New York Italian, on new adventures out of state. Pesto's passed the vibe check! We had to wait (not very long) for a four-top, they were busy! Really loved the food (most of the recipes came from the owner's Italian grandparents) and how friendly/neighborly it felt. We had just missed out on happy hour (daily food and bev specials), but they had a couple of entree specials that sounded appealing. Couple of my friends ordered the side salad to start and they couldn't stop raving about the Caesar dressing. I split the stuffed mushrooms and wished we had ordered more.. 3 wasn't enough for how hungry I apparently was. Any pasta dish you order is guaranteed to be a hit, we all tried a bite of each of ours and couldn't decide a winner (Pesto Pasta, Chicken Saltimbucca, Pasta Greek). While we were waiting to be seated, we watched a lot of foot traffic taking pizza to go. Only reason for a less than perfect dinner was service. Yes, they were busy, but it seemed like we rarely saw our server, and more of the others. She was nice, but a bit of a space case.
Do you know how duct tape and pasta are alike? They both fix everything. Joyce W. and I came to this Chandler gem at long last. We have always wanted to pop in and we finally stopped putting it off and wow. We ordered a Wild Mushroom Sacchetti $18 and a Combo Supreme Pizza $25. The pasta sachet of cheese and mushroom was a tasty dish in cream sauce. As for the pizza, it definitely hit the spot. I'm a pizza fanatic so I had no complaints whatsoever. Come to Pesto's for a good time and a great meal. Reservations are recommended as this place has a huge clientele.
My daughter was craving Italian food and picked this place based on Yelp reviews. I hadn't been here in over 10 years, and wow, what a makeover! The ambiance was festive and organized, with a massive fish tank full of exotic ocean fish. For starter, we ordered the Crispy Calamari with Fresno chili, and it was a hit--5/5 from my wife, daughter, and me. I had the Meatball Sliders, which were just okay until I added the leftover freshno chili from the calamari. My wife loved her Pesto & Pasta with Chicken, and my daughter gave her Ziti & Grilled Chicken a 5/5 too. Personally, I think they were a bit generous with their ratings, but maybe that's just me and my love for fusion food. Our server Erin was super attentive, making the dining experience even better. Overall, I'd give it 4.5 stars because I think the pasta dishes could use a bit more flavor.
Came for lunch, I hadn't been but a friend had been a few times. BEST DECISION!! Get over to this place asap for lunch specials and HH!! Dinner menu looks amazing so I need to be back! The restaurant is cozy and the service was great! 1/2 calzones are huge and still get a small side salad that was delicious. 1/2 sandwich and soup was spectacular! Best tortilla soup I've had, flavorful and lots of melted cheese. Sausage and pepper sandwich didn't disappoint, calzone was probably the way to go! Chicken and sun dried tomato was incredible and so was the sausage and pepperoni covered in cheese, you also get a side of marinara for dipping!! Next time I'll get drinks and dessert!
